Syngenta GroupSyngenta recently announced that it is opening Cropwise?, an AI-powered platform for farmers, to third-party developers worldwide. This enables innovators to integrate advanced agronomic models into new tools and applications, helping farmers benefit from smarter, connected agricultural technologies.
In just five years since its launch, Cropwise? has expanded to support over 70 million hectares of farmland across more than 30 countries. Operational experience shows that large-scale farms and younger farmers are advancing more rapidly in their adoption of AI and digital tools, while smallholders and older farmers continue to face multiple barriers to accessing and using these technologies. By opening up the platform, developers can draw on Syngenta’s AI and machine learning capabilities, as well as its agronomic knowledge base, to create data-driven applications that tackle real-world farming challenges. With full control of their data, farmers can freely choose technology solutions that best support their needs, helping them build greater resilience to climate pressures and market volatility while improving productivity and profitability.
